Cornea Implants

Have just read in the paper that some Swedish scientists have developed cornea implants grown from synthetic human tissue and have improved patients' sight for the first time. These implants could provide an alternative to donated corneas. It's amazing what these scientists are coming up with. I just hope that one day in the future they develop something for William like an imitation lens that is just like a human's crystalline lens (i.e can have multi focal points) so he won't need contacts or glasses! And something to help Binocular Vision would be great as well!!

  1. Me too! I am hoping for retinas though! David has his lens but it's his retina's that are causing his problems...he has bilateral interior PFVS (it didn't effect his lens) I'm praying though and I am encouraged by the advances in technology :)

  2. I guess we are lucky that we live in the times that we do and that scientists are making break through discoveries every day! There is some hope for our boys!
